정직한 honest


voracious: 

식욕이 왕성한 wanting great quantities of food



2) axel vs axle


axel: 악셀 점프

a jump with a forward takeoff from the forward outside edge of one skate


axle: 회전축, 차축

a rod or spindle passing through the center of a wheel



3) avocation vs vocation


avocation: 부업, 취미

a hobby or minor occupation


vocation: 천직, 사명, 임무

a person's main occupation



4) avenge vs revenge


avenge (v): 복수를 하다

inflict harm in return


revenge (n): 복수, 앙갚음

the action of inflicting hurt or harm on someone for an injury or wrong suffered at their hands


revenge도 동사 가능, but 대부분 avenge를 사용



5) bail vs bale (발음 같음)


bail: 보석금

release someone from a difficulty; rescue


bale: 재앙, 불행

physical torment or mental suffering



6) bemuse vs amuse


bemuse: ~을 멍하게 하다

puzzle or confuse


amuse: 기분을 전환시키다

cause someone to find something funny



7) boarder vs border (발음 같음)


boarder: 하숙인, 기숙생

a person who receives regular means when staying somewhere


border: 경계, 가장자리

a line separating two geographical areas




8) breech vs breach 


breech: 총의 뒷부분

the back part of a rifle or gun barrel


breach: 위반, 불이행, 파기

an act of breaking or failing to observe a law



9) diet vs deity


diet: 일상 음식, 식품

the kinds of food that a person habitually eats


deity: a god or goddess



10) prodigy vs protege


prodigy: 천재

a person with exceptional qualities


protege: 부하, 제자[프로러제이]

a person who is guided and supported
